Encore

ZMG Construction is the construction manager and general contractor at Encore, a 40+ acre mixed-use master planned development in downtown Tampa. Prior to commencing our horizontal site development, we organized and executed two job fairs in 2010. Our outreach efforts included local and regional newspaper advertisements and on-site signage, resulting in more than 5,000 candidates and extensive media coverage. Attendees were catalogued by employees at The Women’s Centre in Tampa (Tampa’s first jobs created by Encore), allowing us to follow up with 99% of them via phone message to explain next steps for job fulfillment. To date, this project’s impact comprises:

• 458 individuals employed
• 46 new hires
• 53% of all subcontracts were awarded to Minority Business Enterprises,
  exceeding our contract by 76%
• Nearly half of all contracts, 49%, were awarded to Section 3 certified businesses
• Estimated 4,103 total construction jobs
• Estimated 8,784 total jobs for the local economy
